Base Board Design Notice:

1. Power Design

  • CORE4412 core board is only 5V/1A power input, not need any other voltage. Considering the chip work Peak current, supply current core board needs to ensure there is 1A. In addition, the core board has two voltage 3.3V and 1.8V output,If the current of base board does not exceed 100mA, can take power directly from the core board.
  • Each voltage corresponding pins are distributed as follows:
    Pin43: 3.3V/300mA output that contains the core board itself supply current of about 50mA;
    Pin45: backup battery power input For real-time clock, you need the pin external backup battery, the voltage is 1.8V;
    Pin46, Pin47: 3.7 ~ 5.5V input, we recommend using a 5V input, the maximum should not exceed 5.5V;
    Pin50: 1.8V/3A output that contains the core board itself supply current of about 100mA;

2. USB design

Exynos4412 chip USB interface as follows:

  • It have One USB Host and Two USB HSIC, The USB Host can use as HOST or DEvice. Another two HSIC mouth, respectively STROBE and DATA interface, it can not directly drive HOST device.
  • If you want to use USB HOST, you shoud do as two methods:
    Method 1: Use OTG interface, set HOST mode;
    Method 2: Use HSIC interface,add the bridge chip, such as USB3503, USB4640, etc;
    Advise to use the method 1.
  • When PCB traces, core board 34, 35 pins, namely XuotgDM, XuotgDP pin must go as long as the Isometric differential line, and the impedance is 90 Euro, otherwise there will be a USB transfer instability phenomenon.

3. HDMI Design

  • Exynos4412 comes with HDMI controller chip, support HDMI1.4 protocol. Core board Pin136-Pin143 total 8Pin, must take as long as the Isometric differential lines, and impedance of 100 ohms, otherwise there will be lost HDMI color screen and off And other issues.
